At GCSE we offer seven mandatory subjects and twelve optional ones, as well as art and music courses we've developed ourselves. Our school-directed courses are rigorously monitored by external moderators and enable us to teach a much broader, more advanced curriculum than any GCSE syllabus provides.
The range of options available ensures that all our students continue a variety of sciences, arts and humanities until the end of year 11, yet allows them to follow their own interests and start thinking about possible A-level choices. Everyone takes a GCSE in at least one modern language and it's possible to take two or even three. The timetable also includes a non-examined general studies course in Y10 and time for an extended range of sports activities.
