We have 12 laboratories across three floors of the science block – four labs each for biology and chemistry, plus four for physics and year 7 science. Each set of labs is supported by a prep room and storage facilities. We use the foyer and other areas around the building to display students' work created inside or outside class – look out for the giant DNA molecule made by two A-level biologists. There’s also a periodic table with samples of all the elements.

Every lab is fully equipped to deliver practical activities and get the best out of today’s multimedia teaching resources. IT is integrated throughout our teaching and there are class sets of laptops for student use. The science curriculum we follow at GCSE and A level depends on specialist online resources, accessible through the IT equipment in our labs. We also encourage students to use IT for class presentations, reports and posters, data handling, data logging, modelling and graphing.
