The main studio is mostly used for painting and drawing, including weekly life classes, and has an extensive art library. There’s also a separate studio reserved for year 12 and 13 painting. We use the 3D studio for ceramics and sculpture, while the print-making studio is equipped for etching, drypoint, lino and woodcut. The digital art studio contains 12 networked PCs with the latest image manipulation software and several scanners and printers. Photographers can use a darkroom in the theatre block. The design workshop occupies its own building next to the IT centre, where students can work with wood, plastic and metal. Art history teaching takes place in a dedicated classroom just below the art studios. It has a computer, a digital projector, a slide projector, an overhead projector and its own departmental library. |
