There's more demand than ever for high quality physicists, chemists and biologists but our science teaching isn't just about passing exams. We have a passion for science and we want you to enjoy it as much as we do. So you'll encounter challenging and lively discussions, complemented with practical activities to help your understanding. There’s every chance to satisfy your curiosity outside class as well – we support several clubs for science, psychology, bioethics, forensics and medicine and once a year we turn the school over to Science Week with quizzes, competitions, debates, demonstrations and things to make.
Science is a fast-changing subject, so the most important thing is giving students the skills to work with new information. And that really suits the St Paul's way of thinking.
Biology, chemistry and physics all have their own identity, although there is an introductory science course in year 7 and we sometimes do investigations across different departments that emphasise the common themes of science. As our students grow up physically and emotionally, we also explain the science behind their personal, social and health education.
