On the pitch or in the pool, whether you want to join one of our competitive teams or have fun and get fit, there’s a sport for you at St Paul's. We’re known for our lacrosse, netball, tennis, swimming, athletics and rowing but our extensive facilities offer more than 20 team and individual sports as part of the curriculum or extra options. Our PE teaching is about developing the core skills of particular sports and also promoting teamwork, responsibility and health and fitness habits that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
You’ve probably heard the saying "It's the taking part that counts" – and our approach to PE underlines that attitude. As well as improving your own physical skills, you can learn to analyse and evaluate them in yourself and others, finding out how you fit into teams and picking up ways to work with other people that you’ll certainly use in your university and work life. We’ve got opportunities for you to get involved in coaching, umpiring and organising tournaments, some of our teams go on sports tours and you can even take a sports leadership qualification. To give everyone an extra chance to get involved, we organise regular competitions between forms in our most popular sports.
