You can't stay untouched by music at St Paul's. Just listen to what's going on around the school and you’ll realise how much of a role music plays in our life – you might hear anything from choir rehearsals to an organ recital. We support some of the most talented young musicians in the country but our extra-curricular activities – large orchestral concerts, small ensembles and everything in between – also bring together students of all ages and talents. Our music teaching introduces students to different musical forms – jazz, opera, pop, electronic music and more – and even gives you the chance to compose and perform your own music.
All the visiting music teachers have successful performing careers beyond their work at the school. We attract an incredibly high calibre of musician – both as pupils and teachers.
The standard of music-making at St Paul's has a well-deserved reputation but we’re equally keen to ensure that every student has the chance to form her own opinions of music and how it relates to her life. We're just as interested in providing musical opportunities if you’ve never learned an instrument before as we are in helping the most advanced performers set and achieve their goals.
