Year 7Netball, lacrosse, swimming, sports hall athletics, gym and dance in the autumn and spring; tennis and athletics in the summer; swimming all year round. Year 8The same sports as last year, plus football. Year 9We also introduce water polo, volleyball, basketball, a life-saving course and fitness. Year 10All students take part in some compulsory activities that include netball, fitness, badminton and multi-gym. They also have several optional activities to choose from such as rock climbing, lacrosse, contemporary dance, trampolining, rounders, tennis, life-saving (working towards a bronze medallion) and volleyball. Year 11Students can tailor their own PE curriculum to fill three lessons a week. All the year 10 activities are available. We also offer rowing, yoga, combat fitness, street dance, the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and the Junior Sports Leader Award. Years 12 and 13Students continue to choose options. Extra activities are on offer such as football, squash, touch rugby, the Community Sports Leader Award and cross-country running. Extra-curricular opportunitiesWe offer further opportunities in almost every activity we provide in class time – plus trampolining, fencing, jazz dance, scuba diving, kickboxing and karate. TeamsTeams train all year round in lacrosse, netball, rowing, swimming, tennis, athletics, cricket, rounders, football and basketball. They compete regularly throughout the year and we arrange matches against other schools for up to five teams in a year group. |
