Year 8

The restless earth; soils and ecosystems; development issues; rivers and flooding.

Year 9

Spatial and temporal aspects of population and migration; human impacts on fragile ecosystems (including coral reefs); managing resources; chalk and limestone landscapes; industrial location; coastal features, processes and management.

Year 10

Glaciation; farming; industry; settlement; coasts; rivers; population; climate; forest ecosystems. Coursework investigations begin in the summer term.

Year 11

Managing the environment - coasts, agriculture and resource exploitation. The impact and sustainable management of tourism.

Year 12

Managing physical environments (hydrology, coasts and cold environments). Managing change in human environments (urban landscapes and development, the energy issue and the growth of tourism).

Year 13

Coasts; tourism and recreation (and their environmental impacts); managing rural environments; hazardous environments.
