Exploring western art traditions, starting with an introduction to practical criticism in art history. We study aspects of the western tradition in architecture, sculpture and painting through changing topics. In 2009, these were Rome, Romanesque and Byzantine art, Rome in the High Renaissance and the "long 19th century".
Two historical studies, one on art and architecture in 15th-century Europe and the other on Europe and America between approximately 1900 and 1945. We put both topics in their social, political and economic context.
