Our curriculum comprises the traditional ingredients of a liberal education, with some more modern additions (such as drama GCSE). Throughout our teaching and extra-curricular activities we value the skills – such as IT fluency and inter-cultural awareness – which equip students for the 21st century world.
Every student follows a set curriculum in years 7, 8 and 9 but as they move up the school they have more and more ability to develop their own programme of study. The GCSE curriculum has room for up to four optional subjects and the A-level curriculum consists entirely of options.
We're not obliged to follow the national curriculum (so there are no SATs in year 9), although our syllabuses are close enough to key stage 3 and 4 that students who join us in year 12 from maintained schools will know what we've covered before.
