Projects for the Senior School Scholarship cover every subject we teach at St Paul's – and a number of things we don't. Every summer, many students between years 12 and 13 carry out a research or practical project of their own which aims to encourage independent learning and originality, develop skills of enquiry and organisation and celebrate practical and artistic skills. In 2009, four students won the scholarship: Bella Hammad with an essay on time in the works of Virginia Woolf, Anjali Itkowitz on comparisons between the Odyssey and the Ramayana, Emma Maitland on Denis Diderot's novel La Religieuse and Sophie Stephenson-Wright on the tool-using New Caledonian crows. You can click on the authors' names to download a copy of each essay as a PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader required). |
