girls talking to teacher around tableWe teach girls about citizenship and personal, social and health education – PSHE – by integrating it into the curriculum. We deliver it through dedicated tutorial periods, assemblies and extra-curricular activities, supporting our students from the time they arrive in year 7 or year 12 to the day they depart as young women.

We expect them to take responsibility and show respect for others, as they prepare for adulthood and acquire the skills they need to become active and informed citizens.

We tailor our PSHE programme to each year group. That means we're there for our newest students as they change schools and build up healthy habits, we're there as our young teenagers negotiate social relationships and self-image issues and we're there as they mature and get ready to live independently. We use informal discussions to create an atmosphere of trust and honesty, bringing in outside experts when appropriate and holding regular discussion evenings with parents. Our year 12 and 13 students make an invaluable contribution in helping us deliver PSHE to younger girls.
