Everyone follows the same curriculum in years 7, 8 and 9. The only difference is which language you study as your first modern language (we allocate all students to a beginners' course in French, German or Mandarin Chinese when they join the school). French and German are also available as a second modern language starting in year 9.

There are always six periods dedicated to science in these years, although from year 8 onwards we teach science as separate double periods of biology, chemistry and physics.
