Valediction

In June we formally paid tribute and said farewell to the current VIII. Each girl’s future plans were announced and each was presented with an anthology and a brooch in the form of the school’s original crest by Tom Sheldon, the Master of the Mercers’ Company.

Individual prizes for academic performance and general contribution were also presented. Eleanor Warner and Ella Thorpe-Beeston delighted us with some Liederand speeches were made by the High Mistress, the head girl, Hebe Foster, and the chairman of governors. Staff, parents and girls were then treated to a scrumptious tea. We wish all the leaving VIII very well. You can read the High Mistress’s speech here.
