Bletchley Park

On 19 June and 22 June the LV (year 9) visited Bletchley Park. They learnt about the history of the British code-breaking activities during the second world war during a walking tour of the site.

Afterwards, their mathematical and linguistic skills were put to the test for they had to break some codes and ciphers. The highlight of the day was when they got to encipher a message using a real Enigma machine.  Christina Carrafiell was inspired to write the following poem in code:
