Lost property

How can I help my daughter to take care of her property?

Please ensure that your daughter has a padlock for her locker so that she can keep her property securely. Additionally, her clothes, books, stationery and equipment should be clearly marked with her name. She should also be reminded not to leave her property unattended anywhere in school. It may be confiscated if left in the wrong place.

What should my daughter do if she loses something?

She should go to the lost property room between 12 noon and 1 pm daily. The parents' guild volunteers have an excellent system whereby all named items are sorted into named boxes by form group. Your daughter should be able to find her things easily if they are named. Non-named items are also stored and can be searched with the help of the volunteers. It can take several days for items to find their way to the lost property room so your daughter should be persistent in checking if the item does not appear immediately.

What should my daughter do if she loses something valuable?

Valuable items are always stored in a locked cupboard in the school office and they are logged in a book. Your daughter should go immediately to the school office to report the loss of something valuable. If the item is not there, she will be asked to fill out a form.

What happens to lost property at the end of term?

There is a sale of unnamed lost property at the end of each term. The sale is preceded by a viewing day when owners can spot their items and reclaim them before they are sold. Items are given a nominal sale value and money goes towards the parents' guild funds for disbursement back to school projects. Any unnamed items which are unsold and unclaimed after the end of term are given to charity.
