Communications between parents and schoolWhat matters should I immediately communicate to St Paul's?Good communication between school and home is of the utmost importance to us. If you have any concerns of which we should be aware, please let us know as soon as possible. Absence and infectious diseasesSee information in the arrival, registration and attendance section. Parents’ change of address and contact detailsPlease notify the school office immediately in writing of any change of residential and postal address, e-mail address and any telephone numbers including work and mobile telephone numbers. Parents’ temporary absence from homeParents should inform their daughter’s tutor, well in advance if possible, of the arrangements they have made for her if they are away from home. It is necessary for us to have details of the person taking responsibility for the girl in case of accident or illness. Outside commitmentsParents should consult us before a girl undertakes any commitment likely to make heavy demands on her during term time. Similarly a decision to take a weekend or evening job should be discussed with her tutor in the first instance. What communications will I receive from school?General mailings (including letters from the High Mistress) are sent out electronically. These often include forms which need to be completed. You can download all forms from the password-protected area of this website. We may also communicate with you by text message in an emergency or to update you on the progress of a residential visit abroad. We use the Clarion Call communication system which takes its contact information from our database; it is therefore very important that we are alerted promptly about changes of e-mail address or mobile number. Court orders and precautionsThe High Mistress must be notified in writing immediately of any court order in relation to a child, for example as to parental responsibility, residence, contact, etc. It is the responsibility of both parents to inform the High Mistress immediately in writing and by a personal visit if the matter is urgent and if the school is required to take any special precautions for the protection of a pupil. If special circumstances arise such that any parent may be unable to pay fees in the future, this should also be notified in writing to the High Mistress. Where can I find information about dates and events? The school calendar can be consulted on this website. This is the most up to date version of the calendar. A printed version is sent home with your daughter at the beginning of each term. Term dates are also on this website. The dates and times of events may change at any time, although we try to avoid this as far as possible. We aim to use Clarion Call to communicate to parents as soon as we are aware of any changes being necessary. How do I find out about my daughter's progress?Reports are sent out at the end of the autumn term to years 7, 9, 10 and 13. Reports are sent out to years 8, 11 and 12 at the end of the spring term. At the end of the summer term, years 7 to 10 inclusive get an end-of year report. There are also parents' evenings to discuss your daughter's progress with her teachers. In the autumn term we invite in parents of years 7, 8, 11, 12 and 13 while in the spring and summer terms we hold parents' evenings for years 9 and 10 with years 7 and 13 having a second meeting to discuss progress. Additionally, parents are welcome to contact their daughter's head of year at any time if they have a concern or query. What do I do if I want to make a complaint? It is our policy is to ensure that parents and guardians wishing to make a complaint know how to do so. You should be assured that we listen to and take complaints seriously and we undertake to deal with complaints in a timely, courteous and efficient manner. We aim to take action where appropriate and are willing to review and, if necessary, amend our procedures. Any concerns should be brought to your daughter's head of year in the first instance. Should they be unable to resolve your concern to your satisfaction, please follow the procedure in our complaints policy which is also available in hard copy from the school office (0207 603 2288) |
