Academic matters

What should I do if my daughter has an academic concern?

In the first instance your daughter should talk directly to the relevant teacher or head of department; if the concern is more general she should also talk to her tutor. If there are wider or more difficult issues she or you should contact the deputy head – director of studies.

How do I know how my daughter is doing academically?

Reports are sent out at the end of the autumn term to years 7, 9, 10 and 13. Reports are sent out to years 8, 11 and 12 at the end of the spring term. At the end of the summer term, years 7 to 10 inclusive get an end-of year report. There are also parents' evenings to discuss your daughter's progress with her teachers. In the autumn term we invite in parents of years 7, 8, 11, 12 and 13 while in the spring and summer terms we hold parents' evenings for years 9 and 10 with years 7 and 13 having a second meeting to discuss progress. Additionally, parents are welcome to contact their daughter's head of year at any time if they have a concern or query.
