Barbados Tour Day 1

We woke up this morning, eager to begin our first day in Barbados. A picturesque stroll along the Bajian coast before breakfast reminded us of the intense heat we would soon have to play in.

After breakfast and a hardcore team talk to prepare us, we boarded the bus.

As we cruised into the Princess Margaret’s School grounds we were excited but nervous, as this was a type of competition we would never have come across before.

 The match itself was a battle of the wills between us and Mother Nature. The sun was a mental and physical disadvantage, however we played to the best of our abilities and enjoyed the challenge of a Caribbean styled match. Although we all finished the match sweating bucket-loads, we were grateful for the experience.

The final score was a nail-biting, lip-trembling, gut-wrenching, 10-9.... to them.

The students at the school were welcoming, and we’d like to thank both the girls and the teachers for helping us have such a fantastic first day. We now look forward to an afternoon of relaxing under the palm trees, gazing into the horizon and pondering our future netball endeavours.
